MBBS Admission Process in India 2024

Candidates are admitted to the MBBS program based on how well they performed on the national entrance exam, or NEET. View the Indian MBBS admissions procedure below.

MBBS entrance exams

As previously indicated, there is just one medical entrance exam in India for MBBS admission, which is the NEET. The medical entrance exam is administered by NTA and is based on the NEET-UG syllabus, which covers material from the CBSE classes 11 and 12. MBBS admission candidates get three hours to complete 180 multiple-choice questions out of 200 questions based on the NEET test format.

The three areas of the NEET 2024 question paper are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology). The biggest weighting is given to the NEET biology part, which has 90 questions with 360 possible points. The final two sections of the NEET exam consist of 45 questions and 180 marks each, with equal weighting.

What after qualifying NEET exam?

Candidates may take part in the AIQ counseling procedure for MBBS admission at the federal, state, and local levels after they have met the requirements for the NEET exam. The NTA will compile a list of candidates who meet NEET-UG requirements. Students who make the short list are eligible for NEET counseling. Students must register on the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) portal in order to take part in the counseling and seat assignment procedure.

For 15% of the All India Quota, deemed/central universities/AFMS, and ESIC institutes, MCC will handle the NEET counseling. Students must register using their personal and NEET-related information, pay the counseling fee, and indicate their course and college preferences throughout the MBBS admissions counseling process. MCC will handle the NEET UG seat allotment based on the candidates' selections, NEET All India Rank, reservation, and seat matrix. Those who are offered a seat during the MBBS admissions process must report to the designated institute.

State-wise MBBS admissions in India

The remaining 85% of state-quota seats for MBBS in government colleges and all seats in private institutes will be filled by admissions agents from the corresponding state agencies. There are two options for conducting the MBBS admission counseling process: offline or online. In order to be considered for admission to the MBBS program, candidates must register, select their courses and colleges, and have their documents verified. 1. Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm):

The D.Pharm is a foundation course in the pharmacy field for the duration of 3 years. This course covers the basic information related to the Pharmacy field. It comprises all the subjects which are related to the pharmacy field.

2. Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm):

Eligibility

Students who want to join the B.Pharma programme have to fulfil the given eligibility criteria:

1. For admission to the Pharmacy courses, students must have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biology.

2. Students have to secure a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

3. Students who pass the three year Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) are also eligible.

Admission

To get admission into the Pharmacy course, students have to complete their 10+2 education & apply for national level or state level Pharmacy entrance exam. The national level entrance exam is Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2020). You can also apply for the state level exams such as TS EAMCET 2020, AP EAMCET 2020 BCECE 2020, WBJEE 2020, etc as per the eligibility criteria of the exams.

There are various exams conducted by private and public universities for the admission to the various graduate and postgraduate Pharmacy courses. There are some famous university level exams like BVP CET 2020, IPU CET 2020, MHT CET 2020, etc. Few Institutions offer direct admission into the Pharmacy programme without appearing in an entrance test on the basis of the 12th marks.

The pharmacy sector offers lots of opportunities to the students after the completion of the course. The students can work in a Pharmaceutical company or can practise as a Pharmacist. Salary

In India, there are many employment opportunities available for aspirants who completed their Pharmacy education. The salary in this profession varies from company to company in which an individual is working. The starting salary for a fresher in this field can be Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month in India. After gaining an experience in this field, you can earn approx Rs. 9 to 12 Lakh per annum. In abroad the starting salary could be anywhere between $15000 to $25000 per annum.
